Tony and I would meet most days at the corner of Grace and LeClaire and walk to Schurz. I also remember the days we played softball for the Lifters, played basketball for the team we named the rim raiders and all the times we played fast pitch against the wall at Gray school and home run derby there also.
For all the guys who spent hours at "Gray Elementary" playing baseball on the school gravel baseball,
and basketball court we will always remember "Tony" for his all around talents at all the sports he played.
His assertive style and motivation to "get a hit", "make a basket" and " win the game"was unmatched. He was always trying his best. He loved competative sports and as well as he was a "good guy". I'll always think fondly of "Tony" and I can see him trying to make one last "free throw". RIP
