In Memory

Howard DE Baugh

Howard W. DeBaugh, Jr. (74) was born to Howard DeBaugh and Harriet DeBaugh in Chicago, Illinois on June 12, 1945. Sadly, Howard passed away August 9, 2019 in his home surrounded by family.

Howard graduated from Chadwick University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration on November 10, 1992.  On August 4, 1984, he earned his CPIM (Certified in Production and Inventory Management) credentials and on October 8, 2005, he earned his Project Management Professional credentials from the Project Management Institute.

Howard started using his knowledge in computer science working for Imperial Eastman and A.B. Dick Company in Niles, Illinois and Signode Strapping in Chicago as a computer operator.  He then branched out as a computer consultant for Applied Information Development in Oak Brook, Illinois.  When he realized he was missing a lot of his son’s activities from traveling so much he went back into corporate life for 10 years at Molex in Downers Grove, Illinois.  He then moved to Boise, Idaho and started working for Truss Joist McMillian. However, after 15 months at TJM Oracle Corporation came knocking and from 1995 to 2008 Howard was a computer consultant for Oracle.  He helped set up the Tokyo, Japan office for Oracle and lived there with Judy his wife from 1995 to 1996.  Howard then retired from Oracle in September 2008.

Howard met Judy at Imperial Eastman where they both worked in June 1967, they went on their first date in July, he asked her to marry him in August, and they were engaged in October and married on April 20, 1968 in DesPlaines, Illinois for 51 years before Howard’s passing.

Howard loved to play golf and men’s softball.  But most of all he really loved watching his son play hockey and his granddaughter’s Hanna play fast pitch softball and volleyball; and Kaitlyn play golf and basketball.  He never missed a game or tournament for any of them.  He was always there on the sidelines cheering them on.

Howard is survived by his wife Judy, son Scott, daughter-in-law Susan, granddaughter’s Hanna and Kaitlyn, sister Challyn (Bob) Hyde, brother-in-law Jim Osterman (Paulette), and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces/nephews.

Howard is preceded in death by his parents Howard and Harriet DeBaugh, sister Carole, sister Cheryl and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

We will be doing a celebration of Howard’s life on September 28, 2019 at the family’s residence. Please contact Judy for further information and arrangements at 208-869-3066.

Howie was my best friend from grade school at Belding through High School at Schurz.  We did everything together. We competed at many sports like baseball, basketball, bowling, pool and table tennis. Yes table tennis.  We were doubles champs at Wright Jr. College.   We were each olthers best man at our weddings.

Unfortunately once Howie moved out of state we kind of lost touch.  I regret that now.  He fought a long battle with his disease.  May he rest in peace.  I will never forget him.
