What have you been doing for the last 50 years?
BS '67 Michigan State; MS '72 Univ of Oregon; married in '70 - almost celebrated #47, but unfortunately Dave passed away April 24, 2017; have taught high school math in IL in the classroom (8 yrs) and continue to teach as a homebound teacher for teens too ill (physically/mentally/emotionally) to attend high school (48 yrs and still going strong); adore my grandchildren & love spending time w them - fortunately some of them live near me; very involved w our church - committees and activities; help chaperone our 7-10 day workcamp/mission trips for HS youth from church - #16 in July, 2024; attended my 6th adult mission trip in June, 2023; done some traveling - hope to do more - it will be hard to top the month long trip to Africa in June, 2019...however, my 2023 month long trip to Australia & New Zealand was everything I'd hope for - held a koala AND climbed the Sydney Harbor Bridge among many other things.
In early 2024 cataracts finally caught up with me; first surgery in January and the second in February; BUT they grew back, so needed two more surgeries; the auras on headlights coming toward me at night are horrific, so I'm on two sets of very expensive non-generic eye drops to hopefully reduce the auras. Otherwise I am very blessed!
